stella marie sophie

Stella is a theatre-maker, performer and facilitator. She lives lives and works between London, Berlin and Vienna.

Stella tells stories that centre queer experiences. Her work looks at using the body as a form of resistance and ambivalent feelings towards one’s own body, in a context of societal, structural and legislative expectations on what a queer body should and shouldn’t do (or can and can’t do). It looks at how you’re meant to live in the way you want when there are no blueprints or guidelines for you.

The shows are intimate, revealing and political. Mashing up new writing, true stories, a rigorous research praxis and imagery to tell complicated stories of complex queer characters.
